Genius Parrot

Parrots are that smart!? I just ran across this YouTube video with Alex the Genius Parrot. Homeboy was answering questions out loud in English about colors, shapes, and numbers. In my opinion, this is pure evidence that evolution is what lead us to what we are today.

DOW’n The Drain

20110601-050203.jpg

Today the Dow Jones Industrial Average sunk 300 points at the end of the trading day. It hasn’t done anything like this since last year around this same time. Money experts are telling investors, “stop being such pessimists!”

The looming negativity in America when it comes to finance is said to be the main reason for today’s plunge. People are scared they’re gonna lose all their money for whatever reason it may be. Investors decided today was the day to sell off as much stock they could afford to before tomorrow.

Regardless of today’s sudden pull back, the DOW is still better off than it was two years ago, currently resting at 12,290, as opposed to 8,000.

I’m not shook. I see this as an opportunity to keep an eye on which stocks are sinking to a new floor, and to buy, buy, buy. That’s the name of the game, buy low, sell high.

Kevin McHale Rockets New Coach

20110601-041800.jpg

Kevin McHale just got hired as the Houston Rockets new head coach. This is a pretty big step for both the Rockets and McHale because McHale has yet to coach a NBA team for an entire season. The only thing I gotta say is, No Yao!

This is good because the Rockets need a new start. We’ve been tinkering around with the same jacked up situation trying to form a team around Yao Ming. At this point, any change would be greatly appreciated, as long as they get Yao the fuck outta town.

I hope Kevin McHale can bring the winning spirit back to the Rockets franchise and lead us to a championship. We can’t say he sucks at coaching, because the little substitute coaching he did in Minnesota was not a failure.

Let’s go Rockets!

Shaq Retired

20110601-034601.jpg

After 19 seasons, Shaq retired today … via Twitter! Somebody please tell me no one else has quit their job via social network. Shaq, you the man for announcing one of life’s biggest decisions in the most casual way possible.

Shaq did his thing in the NBA though. He won four championships, one with Miami and three with the Lakers. You have to expect to see him in the Hall of Fame.

I was always a fan of Shaq, even when he played for the Lakers, and all through his crazy times in Miami. He had a few controversial stories rise about his life off the court within the last five years, but he’s still one of the greatest.

Good job Shaq. Your presence will be missed on the court.

Beans Says Sorry To Hov

20110531-070245.jpg

Beanie Sigel spoke with XXL Magazine today and apologized to Jay-Z for his 2009 diss record “What You Talkin’ Bout (I Ain’t Your Average Cat)”. If you ain’t got nothing nice to say, don’t say nothing at all. Beans should have thought about that before it had to come to this.

On one hand, I understand why he did the diss track. Hov did drop the entire label without much warning, leaving mad unemployed rappers in the wake; Beans, Freeway, Peedi Crack, just to name a few. But still, dissing the guy on wax was asking for embarrassment.

Jay never directly replied to Beans’ diss, and it ended up making the whole idea insignificant. Now that he’s saying sorry publicly, it’s only reminding people that he mad a fool of himself by doing so.

Whatever though, all the best to Beans’ career, and he’s still one of the top ten greatest gangsta rappers of all time.

Chinese Video Game Prisons

Chinese Prison Inmates Forced to Moonlight as World of Warcraft ‘Gold Farmers’ for Guards

20110531-045206.jpg

China done up and created some new weirdo shit. Apparently some prisons in China are forcing inmates to play role play video games like World of Warcraft for money in a systematic gaming racket called “gold farming”. Hmmm … won’t be long before we hear about this in other countries.

It’s pretty ingenious of an idea. The inmates, who reap no benefits, sit around playing all day on a huge server earning credits that exchange from virtual money to real money. It works because dorks in Europe and America suck at video games compared to Asians. They buy the credits from the guards so they can have better stats and gaming options. You know we love cheating to win, what an even exchange.

As much cracking down as authorities would like to implement, the hackers always are ten steps ahead. Rerouting IP addresses, building and evading firewalls, and having the actual Chinese prison cops earning money is keeping the mob effect thriving.

This phenomena is only in its teenage stage. Once that $150 gold farmer monthly salary raises to say around $1500 per month, that’s when the big bucks start rollin’ in.

Cell Phones And Brain Cancer

Cell Phone Use ‘Possibly Carcinogenic’: WHO

20110531-020610.jpg

At first they said they had no real evidence to prove cell phones give people brain cancer. Now they sayin’ it’s a possibility that cell phones give people brain cancer. I’m gon’ go ahead and say that cell phones give people brain cancer.

The World Health Organization, or WHO, sent 21 scientists from 14 countries on a mission to try and find the answers to some obvious ass shit. The answer that lithium, copper, gold, aluminum, plastic, and a combination of radio signals and electrical charges really close to your brain all day, everyday, has negative carcinogenic side effects.

We been knew that shit, nigga!

That’s why we be sendin’ calls straight to voicemail, declining them shits, text messaging, tweeting instead of answering calls, etc. I’d rather have hand cancer than brain cancer.

What Do Up & Down Mean?

20110531-125338.jpg

If you’re standing on Earth’s south pole and you look up at the sky, are you really looking up, or are you technically looking down? Tough question, isn’t it? From a universal Earth perspective, you’d certainly be looking down.

Whose idea was it to define Europe, America, and Asia as part of the northern hemisphere, and anything below the equator as the southern? If the early astronomers we know of in the west would have come from Australia, would the idea have been different? I think a lot of astrological determinations would be totally opposite.

We allow scientific theories that root from a time when the Earth was thought to be the center of our universe dictate our concept of placement and motion. When you dig deep in your mind and think about our planet, it’s a really tiny digit of a ball. Spheres have no sides, they’re the perfect shape; so what’s north to us, could be south to someone else.

There is only what we believe and make into reality through dialogue and mandated rules. The fact is, there can be almost infinite perspectives of viewing what’s up and what’s down. The laws of gravity can be tricky, but don’t be fooled by attraction. When we leave Earth, there are a whole new set of rules to direction, and up is no way different from down.
